SEPT. 2, 2009 • Namco Sounds is the new exclusive iTunes music label set up by Namco Bandai to market remastered soundtracks from the publisher’s large catalog of game titles. There are also plans for new content to be distributed worldwide.
Impact: The word from this year’s Tokyo Game Show is the shared worry amongst video game publishers about how strongly the iPhone has grown into a gaming system. That’s an amazing testament to the platform given Apple didn’t even attend the show. The take-away is that Apple’s various platforms are here to stay, and the best policy is to play along rather than fight.
