AUG. 18, 2010 • Zynga Texas Poker is made available in Taiwan and Hong Kong with traditional Mandarin – the first international localization for the publisher. The title can be accessed via Facebook.
Impact: Up until now we suspect the growth of Zynga games internationally has been a pleasant surprise to a publisher who has been under the gun to keep new hits flowing into social networks. Localization eventually had to get on Zynga’s radar. The publisher simply has exposure to too many foreign language speakers. Putting its poker franchise out into Mandarin is a clear sign that the company has long-term designs on worldwide growth.
