AUG. 20, 2009 • Retail PC and Mac versions of Plants vs. Zombies went on sale across North America for $19.95 . PopCap Games said the title is its fastest-selling product ever since it was released 90 days ago, and it will also see an iPhone version late in the year.

Impact: Plants vs. Zombies was a major hit that launched entirely as a digitally distributed product.  Retail did not even get the product until three months after its release.  This shows that for the right product, the distribution rules have clearly changed.
