PS2 with your Bravia?

DEC. 3, 2010 • Europe just got a new Sony HD TV with a built in PlayStation 2. The Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300 is a 22-inch 720p HD set with four HDMI slots, three USB ports, and an ethernet port for watching internet video. DVD playback is a standard feature on the set that went on sale in the U.K. for £200 ($310).

Impact: As a compact HD set with built-in DVD playback and Internet connectivity, this Bravia model has some appeal. The question remains how much demand there is for a Bravia with a PS2 on-board in places like the United Kingdom. Central and Eastern Europe may be a better bet, as would the Middle East and India – all of them PAL regions, and all of them with plenty of consumers lacking the resources to buy into Sony’s PlayStation 3s.
