For the first nine months of fiscal 2022 ending 9/30/22, CD Projekt (OTC: OTGLY) reported that net sales were flat at €133 million. However, the company showed a net before-tax profit of €57 million (up from €29 million in the first nine months of 2021).
Analysis
CD Projekt is recovering from its disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020. Cyberpunk is actually enjoying somewhat of a renaissance with a growing player base and the launch of a Netflix anime show.
In October, CD Projekt announced an ambitious new strategy. This includes new projects in the Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises, as well as a new IP code-named Hadar.
Overall CD Projekt is an interesting company to watch because of the strength of the two core IP (Witcher and Cyberpunk). If the company can not execute in its current state, they could be a major acquisition candidate.
