JULY 1, 2009 • Martin Lindell reporting from Europe indicated The Sims 3 fared well in Sweden. In the first week of release the game accounted for 80% of the PC games sales revenue, at the same time PC games sales increased 240% and hit a weekly high during 2009.
Impact: In Sweden, like most western territories physical PC games sales are declining, with the exception strong brands such as The Sims and World of Warcraft. This is a testament that there still is a huge demand and interest for The Sims, but also potential for blockbuster PC hits.
